Larry Dale Vanway, 60, of Elmwood, formerly of Fairfield, passed away at 8:52 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2012, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Larry was born in Nashville, TN on February 6, 1952, the son of Nelson Dale and Myrtle (Shuffett) Vanway.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held in Fairview at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home, 3004 West Lake Avenue, in Peoria.

Although I do not know Larry's immediate family, I think of all of you. I am originally from Boyleston, a village near Fairfield. I was ten, when Larry was born. I remember how the birth of Larry made everyone so happy. At that time, his Grandmother Nora Vanway was my Sunday School teacher. My parents and Larry's parents had been friends for years. So, memories of his birth are still in my mind. I think of Suzanne, and know she has lost a brother, a special friend, and someone who can never be replaced on this earth. I think of Larry's aunt Joyce, with fond thoughts. I wish I could have known other, more recent family members. To all of you, I pray for your comfort during this time. Roberta Simpson Jones
